Spider Control in Simcoe
Simcoe is Norfolk County's largest community and its administrative centre, positioned inland in the heart of the county's agricultural area. The Lynn River runs through Simcoe's older residential areas, and the riparian corridor sustains some riparian orb weaver and fishing spider activity near the waterway within town limits.
Simcoe has a substantial stock of older residential housing from the 1940s through 1960s, when the county's agricultural prosperity supported significant residential construction. These homes have full basements with the foundation characteristics of their period. The agricultural fringe surrounding Simcoe — particularly to the east and south, where tobacco transition crops and Norfolk's specialty produce operations are concentrated — generates fall migration pressure to properties at the town's edge.
