Spider Control in Port Dover
Port Dover is a Lake Erie commercial fishing community and popular summer destination on the north shore, known for Friday the 13th motorcycle gatherings and the local perch fishery. The fishing harbour infrastructure — dock pilings, commercial fish sheds, boat storage — provides extensive harborage for dock spiders through the boating season. Waterfront properties on the Lynn River near its Lake Erie entry also see fishing spider activity.
Port Dover has a mix of permanent residences and seasonal properties, with the seasonal stock concentrated on the lake-facing and river-facing lots. Permanent homes near the waterfront deal with sustained spider pressure from the harbour environment. The Lake Erie shoreline environment in Port Dover is warmer and more sheltered than points east, extending the active season for web-building species into October most years.
