**Aylmer:** Market town with surrounding agricultural character. Agricultural-adjacent residential properties have above-average insect and spider pressure. Aylmer is positioned in the transition between Elgin's western farm country and the Long Point region to the east.

**Agricultural interior:** The majority of Elgin County is grain, corn, and soybean agriculture. Rural residential properties throughout Dutton, Rodney, West Lorne, Shedden, and the agricultural townships experience higher spider and insect pressure than urban equivalents, consistent with other southwestern Ontario farming counties.
